“I thought they were handling it.”

FROM THE FIRST PLAN.
TO THE NEXT SERVICE.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
A message, a spreadsheet, a word in passing. It’s easy to lose track just when it matters.
A task without an owner stays on hold. Make it clear who steps in and what happens next.
A tick is only part of the story. Separate the work itself from the manager’s check.
The service ends, but the problem remains. Carry it forward with a person responsible and a deadline.
THE FORKHIVE METHOD
The plan sets the direction. Service puts it to the test. Closing preserves what matters.
Start with a proposed plan: goals, resources and exceptions to consider. The owner decides what to approve, with uncertainty clearly visible.
Planning cycle · illustrative exampleThe approved plan stays the reference.
When new needs emerge, assess the adjustments and their consequences. The team needs to know which version to use and what has changed.
Planning cycle · illustrative exampleChanges should always be visible.
Priorities become tasks with a person responsible. Team members see their work and record the outcome or a blocker. The manager sees where to step in.
Workflows tested in the local versionVisible responsibility. Clear next steps.
Review the outcomes and carry unresolved issues forward with an owner and a deadline. The next service starts with what matters, even when the team changes.
Workflows tested in the local versionCarried forward means still to follow up.
The full planning cycle is evolving. Planning examples are marked as illustrative; task and closing workflows have been tested in the local version.
THE PRODUCT IN EVERYDAY SERVICE
It’s Friday. The delivery has arrived and needs checking. Follow it through with the team.
TRY THE WORKFLOW
Someone takes ownership of the task.
The team records what was done.
The manager checks the outcome.
The open issue has a next step.
Illustrative demo with fictional data. These actions stay on this page and are not saved in the app.
Friday · before service
The goods have arrived. Who checks the quantities and any differences before service starts?
Start by making it clear who is responsible.
A task completed. A check recorded.
An issue still open, and still visible.
THE RIGHT PEOPLE, WITH CLEAR ROLES
Shared information and clear responsibilities: everyone finds what they need to do their job well.
THE OWNER
Follows goals, results and open issues. Understands which data is missing before making a decision.
THE MANAGER
Assigns priorities, handles blockers and verifies the work. Prepares a handover the next team can follow.
THE TEAM MEMBER
Finds assigned work, records the outcome and flags anything getting in the way. On a phone, too.
CLARITY MATTERS MORE THAN A NUMBER
A result is useful when you can trust the information behind it. ForkHive keeps missing information visible and helps you see what to collect.
Your judgement stays at the centre.
Staff hours and costs are needed.
Missing data never becomes zero.
BEFORE YOU START
With your venue’s setup: services, people, responsibilities and available data. You can explore the demo on this page without creating an account. Public sign-up is being prepared.
ForkHive is a responsive web application, used in a browser on phones and computers. No native app is required. Reading and recording work needs an internet connection; offline use is not promised.
The setup takes account of your services, roles and responsibilities. The aim is to give people a shared reference. Operational rules and decisions remain with the people running the restaurant.
It depends on the decision. Organising tasks needs services, people and responsibilities; assessing results needs sales, costs and actual hours. If required data is missing, the product flags it and keeps the result incomplete.
The roles are distinct. The owner follows setup and results, the manager coordinates service and checks, and team members follow their assigned work. The application enforces permissions. This demo uses fictional people only.
ForkHive works alongside your restaurant’s tools. Data can be brought in through supported import formats, which need checking for your case. It is not a POS, accounting or payroll system, and this site does not promise unconfirmed automatic integrations.
